In addition to his work in web design, Brandon Gandy is also the author of Awakening, the first installment in The Emberstorm Chronicles—a coming-of-age fantasy novel that explores identity, courage, and transformation through an LGBTQIA+ lens.

As a self-published author using Amazon KDP, Brandon was responsible not only for the writing and formatting of the book, but also for its visual presentation. To bring the world of Awakening to life, he designed a compelling book cover using AI-powered graphic design tools. The goal was to capture the tone of the story—mystical, adventurous, and deeply personal—while ensuring the design met Amazon’s technical specifications for both digital and print editions.

The final cover features a vivid, fantasy-inspired aesthetic that hints at the story’s magical themes and emotional depth, helping it stand out in a crowded market. It serves as both an invitation into the novel’s world and a professional representation of Brandon’s creative versatility.
